Around a week ago I bought a second-hand Panasonic Let’s Note CF-SZ6. I’ve been looking for these for a year and well I had to impulse-buy it.

But keys were sticking. I spent days spraying electrical contact cleaner. It would work for a while, but it would come back. I had considered disabling the sticking keys via software. Unfortunately due to my impatience I thought it was because of the contact cleaner still not drying. So I used a heat gun. And melted the keycaps.

Well that was an expensive lesson.

At least I found out that the problem was not electronic but mechanical. The rubber was torn off and stuck under the plastic springs which was triggering the keypresses.

I hope I learn from this.
